Chapter 2: CCTM’s *Taking Action* book study will s
pend our October session considering the importance of establishing mathema
tics goals to focus learning. We will explore why this practice is the anch
or for the other seven Mathematics Teaching Practices (NCTM’s *Principle
s to Actions*, 2014) and how it promotes equity in the mathematics clas
sroom. You’ll leave this month’s session ready to strengthen the mathematic
s goals you set for daily instruction and with a plan to gather evidence of
their effectiveness.
