Great Wall of Inspiration

The Great Wall of Inspiration

Each newsletter we will highlight the voice of an educator within Colorado to share some of their amazing work and ideas. In this issue we would like to hear from all of you. In Juliana Tapper's book Teaching 6 - 12 Math Intervention she suggests building community by building a Great Wall of Inspiration. In this activity she asks students who or what inspires them to come to school every day.  We would like to build the CCTM Great Wall of Inspiration. In this newsletter we are sharing inspiration from our board around the question, "What inspires you to teach math?”

The person who inspires me to work on math is Christine, a SPED teacher, because she is someone who translates our work into student success.

My students inspire me to come to school each day. I only have a desire to see every student be successful. I know that my students have experienced trauma, so I must show up every day - well planeed - humorous - and excited to be with them. --(D51 Grand Junction)

My students inspire me to teach math because they deserve to learn math at any level. I am most inspired by the students that are not at grade-level but willing to work hard to get there. --Katie (D51 Grand Junction)

My students and colleagues inspire me to teach math because I know they want to get better at math skills and get better at math skills teaching. --(D51 Grand Junction)

Sudents inspire me to come to school each day because they will be the next generation to support the future generation. --Lance (D51 Grand Junction)
