Brooke Cole

Current: Principal, Brush Creek Elementary School, Eagle County Schools

Background: This is my 4th year as leader of Brush Creek Elementary School. We have a vision for equitable instruction that meets all students needs and teaches all to a high standard. Our school-based strategic plan holds us accountable for math instruction aligned with this vision. If we can elevate our classroom instruction focused on small group, skills-based instruction designed to meet the personalized needs of all students, then we will see an increase in growth and a greater understanding of the standards of mathematical practices. We have had success focusing on small group and workshop practices, duplicating for math our teachers' strength and ease in teaching reading. I love to promote this best practice and would be proud to support, collaborate, and strengthen these ideas among the math teachers of Colorado.

About CCTM’s Role: CCTM does a wonderful job in providing quality professional learning, promoting research based best practices, and connecting teachers to grow their practice. All for the benefit of all of our students!

Why Serve?: I am a champion for strong math instructional practices that allow teachers to better meet the variety of needs of the learners in front of them every day. Our teachers have the HARDEST job in the world. I consider it a privilege to support their work, encourage risk-taking to be innovators in their practice as we raise the bar for all of our young mathematicians.
